INTIMATIONS

 

Welcome to our Church, especially if you are visiting us. If you wish to know more about our various activities, aims and objectives, please complete one of the blue cards at the end of each pew, or speak to one of the Duty Team at the door.

 

Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits will be served in the Carswell Halls after the Service today. Please join usyou will be most welcome.

 

Fairtrade Stalls are held on the second and last Sunday of each month on a regular basis in the Carswell Halls. The stall is on next week after the service.

 

WRVS  monthly  meetings resume this coming  Tuesday  7th  September at the usual time of 10am  in  the Upper Room of the  Carswell  Church.   It  is  hoped  that  as  many members  as possible can attend as there  is  a  matter  that  needs to be discussed.

WALKING GROUP

The next outing of the Walking Group, on Wednesday 8 September, will be to Strathaven to walk to Sandford via the Spectacle E'e Falls. We leave from the Church Hall at 10.00.


GUILD   COMMITTEE   members   are   reminded   that   there   is   a Committee  Meeting  on  Wednesday  8th  September  at  2.00pm  in  the Upper Room of the Carswell Hall.

Parish Grouping is organising a series of lectures to mark the 450th anniversary of the Reformation.  The second of these will be on 9th Sept at Broom Church, by Dr Steven Reid on the history of the Reformation.

 

Next Sunday will be "Back to Church Sunday", when our community are particularly invited to join us via a special edition of the Outlook magazine.  Come early to ensure a seat!

 

The Fellowship Team with the support of many willing helpers are once again holding a Harvest Supper on Friday 17th September, 7pm in Carswell Hall. The Team look forward to providing an evening meal, which we trust you will enjoy in relaxed surroundings with friends to entertain us. All ages will be most welcome - your support will encourage and strengthen our Church Fellowship.

 

Please fill in and return attached invitation to Margaret Pitcairn - 19 Riverside Rd. (0141 644 3223) or Church Plate at Wednesday 8th September. There will be no charge, donations welcome.

 

HARVEST is on Sunday the 19th September. The church will be open from 10am on Saturday the 18th to receive donations for the decoration of the church; volunteers are required as usual. Donations of flowers and plants to decorate the Carswell Hall for the Harvest supper should be brought to the hall after 10am on Friday the 17th. After the Harvest service if you can help with distribution of gifts this will be greatly appreciated.

 

New Member's classes will be starting later this month - informal sessions at the Manse for those considering church membership.  Please let the minister know if you are interested.

 

The Bereavement Support Group at Mearns Kirk now meets twice a month; on the first Tuesday at 7.30pm and on the third Saturday at 10am in the New Hall.

 

A reminder that the prayer group meets every Sunday at 10.30am in the Upper Room, Carswell Halls.  All are welcome, whether you can come regularly or occasionally.  It's an informal group, and praying out loud is not compulsory!
